Marketing & Sales Manager

Main Purpose and Role:

  • To develop and implement a proactive sales & marketing strategy for the hotel.

Key Tasks:

  • To develop and implement the hotel’s local Sales & Marketing plan
  • Coordination and production of all local marketing collateral to agreed company standards
  • To produce an annual wedding and event strategy in conjunction with the events manager, in order to maximise sales without compromising the core leisure markets
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key local organisations and businesses in order to increase and maximise corporate and MICE revenue opportunities
  • Develop relationships with local organisations, partners, attractions and places of interest in order to develop suitable affiliate marketing opportunities
  • Help manage hotel profile content on third party sites, to ensure consistency of brand values
  • Generate appointments and meet with potential businesses to promote the hotel and gain business for low season / mid-week periods
  • Manage and maximise the relationships with the local leisure market – i.e. VIPolurrian
  • Preparing past guest, Health Club member and VIPolurrian e-newsletters in conjunction with Marketing Director
  • To produce and implement the Spa Sales & Marketing plan in conjunction with the Health Club Manager
  • Work with the Health Club Manager to maximise local memberships and to cross-sell opportunities for F&B and leisure
  • Responsible for implementing the marketing of monthly Health Club offers in conjunction with the Health Club Team
  • Manage and coordinate 3rd Party Spa website packages and availability with Spa Managers and Group Rev/CRO Team
  • Work closely with the Revenue Team to develop new and appealing guest packages
  • Attend revenue meetings with Front of House Manager, General Manager, Deputy Manager and Food & Beverage teams, to implement marketing and sales opportunities to increase revenue and bookings
  • Co-ordinate and host Journalist Fam Trips
  • Manage the production and quality of all in- house marketing collateral alongside creating and driving all in-house and local promotions
  • Responsible for all social media input from the hotel across all platforms
  • Develop and implement a social media calendar across different platforms
  • Representing the hotel at local associations and networking events to promote the business and to obtain useful contacts – i.e. Cornwall Chamber of Commerce, Visit Cornwall, etc
  • Prepare and negotiate adverting costs with publications
  • Communicating with the hotel’s designer to create ads for different areas of the hotel
  • Responsible for writing hotel news articles, monthly blogs for different areas of the business
  • Responsible for organising 3rd party events and activities throughout the school holiday periods as part of value-added incentive plan
  • Management of the Sales & Marketing yearly budget, reporting to the Marketing Director
  • General updating of website, creating content and highlighting offers and breaks
  • Identifying opportunities locally and nationally to highlight the hotel in line with the overall sales and marketing strategy
  • Work with the hotel’s PR team to maximise all opportunities
  • Manage marketing enquiries from advertisers, reply to requests for prizes and incentives
  • Support the GM and DGM with timely marketing and sales initiatives to increase F&B revenue and guest bookings
  • Support the Events Manager with seasonal events, creating marketing materials and external communications

Qualifications

  • Degree in Marketing, business or related field
  • Experience in marketing strategy
  • Experience of media channels and budget management
  • 2 to 3 years in a Sales/Marketing role, ideally in a Hotel or customer focused environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Activities Host

15 hours per week - Commencing 22/7/19 to 01/09/19

Main Purpose and Role:

To prepare, organise and deliver a fun, safe and stimulating activity programme for family’s who attend the planned activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

DELIVERING EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE:

Create a friendly environment considering Health and Safety requirements.
Create and deliver an activity programme for families.
Present a professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintain an excellent standard of customer service.
Ensure activities are fun, engaging, and age appropriate, making best use of the environment and equipment available.
Help organize and host social events, and generally interact with guests at all times.
Report any lost property immediately and follow correct procedure

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT:

Keep, equipment, and toys clean, well maintained, and sterilized where appropriate
Maintain and check all equipment regularly and report any defects
Report any defects or damage immediately and ensure it is correctly logged
Ensure all equipment and chemicals are used correctly and to manufacturer’s instructions

CARE AND CONSIDERATION FOR OTHERS

Adhere to personal appearance standards at all times
Help colleagues should they require assistance
Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment
To report any suspicious behaviour

GOING THE EXTRA MILE:

Complete any other reasonable task when requested to do so by management
Look for any inconveniences to our guests and act upon them
Always look for ways to go the extra mile with all of our guests
Identify sales leads during guest discussions and feedback to hotel sales manager
Show personal initiative when dealing with guests to help generate “Wow” moments during the stay
Be a key face and character in the hotel animating your department and guest experiences
Be an ambassador for the hotel

Skills and Attributes:

To successfully fill this role we are looking for an individual who possess the following:

  • CRB check essential – Polurrian on the Lizard will arrange
  • First Aid desirable but not essential
  • Accredited and recognised childcare qualification – preferred but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Excellent personal presentation
  • Passion for child care
  • Flexibility to work hours as set by the business
