Marine Wildlife and Conservation adventures!
Would you like to explore and delve deeper into the incredible rock pools of The Lizard with an expert marine biologist? Are you interested in helping to protect and learn about marine wildlife? The Rock Pool Project can guide you to do both and turn your holiday trip to the beach into an unforgettable marine biology adventure.
Led by Dr Ben Holt, a world recognised leader in marine ecology and biodiversity research, Rock Pool Project safaris are fun, safe, hands-on activities where our experts will guide you to discover the astonishing marine wildlife found in the magical world of rock pools. From swimming crabs to bioluminescent anemones, nothing living within the tidal zone is ordinary. We will help you to record the species you discover, using our waterproof handheld devices, and contribute to vital marine conservation records at the National Biodiversity Network. After enjoying our sessions, you will also receive a personalised report of your rock pool wildlife finds, explaining just how you contributed to our project and built a better picture of our marine natural heritage.
We have activities designed for young and the young at heart, all of which require no previous knowledge of marine wildlife. These sessions are exclusively on offer to Polurrian Hotel guests, will be led by Dr Holt personally, with spaces limited to ensure small groups sizes.
