We love using ingredients from local growers and artisan suppliers, whether it’s freshly picked fruit and vegetables or Cornish meat from the butcher nearby.
Charlotte has been with us since 2011 and, as of 2019, has become head chef here at the Polurrian. She is very proud to be an advocate of the slow food movement, but don’t worry – this doesn’t mean your food is slow to cook. Charlotte and the team just spend longer finding the best produce from as close a radius as possible.
The beauty of running a kitchen in Cornwall is the ability to source produce from the countryside to the coastline. Here at The Polurrian the origin and quality of produce is the most important thing to us, and the unrivalled choice of local suppliers we have is unique. Charlotte and the team can bring out the best of these ingredients by cooking traditionally in our wood-fired oven, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating – enjoy!
Our new menus are inspired by the rustic dishes and bold flavours of the Mediterranean, mixed with best Cornish ingredients.
Come and experience delicious dishes created in our Gozney wood-fired oven and relax with a drink from our bar.
Our Local Suppliers
Our chefs ensure that the finest ingredients are used, and we also grow herbs in our kitchen garden, forage for local ingredients, and serve the most tempting Cornish tipples.
Mealtimes are wonderfully relaxed, with casual dining available in the restaurant from 12-9pm. A children’s menu is also available to feed those hungry tums. We serve delicious cream teas (jam first of course) and afternoon tea from 12pm-6pm, both of which are a perfect treat to enjoy with friends and family. Hotel guests are also welcome to have food delivered to their room.
Lunch is informal, and on balmy days you can take a seat on the terrace for alfresco meals and afternoon teas. If you’ll be out exploring during the daytime, we can pack a delicious picnic for you to take on your travels.
Dinner is a relaxed affair in our restaurant. Enjoy delicious dishes from our menu paired with hand-selected wines, indulgent cocktails or Cornish tipples.
