Visit the impressive fortress that's stood in Falmouth's defence since the Tudor era.

Built to defend River Fal’s estuary during the Tudor era, Pendennis Castle has been evolving with the centuries ever since. Today, you can visit between 10am and 4pm in the summer months to step into Cornwall’s exciting military history.

See the display of big guns and immerse yourselves in tales of battles past, or find a sunny spot at the top and look out upon the stunning views of Falmouth and its beaches.

Homemade food and Cornish drinks are available in the Barrack Block if you’re stopping for a bite to eat, and the castle is a short walk to the town of Falmouth – well worth a visit.

If little ones are joining you, they’ll love watching out for enemy ships from the Battery Observation Post, or hiding out in the Tudor keep. With regular exhibitions and installations, Pendennis is a must for history lovers.
