The Roskilly family has had a Jersey herd at Tregellast Barton since 1950, when there were 40 acres and 30 cows. And although the farm has now grown to 200 acres with a herd of over 100, the cows are still Jerseys, and their milk’s still ideal for making ice cream. Roskilly’s never uses pesticides or artificial fertilisers, which is why the land and herd have been certified fully organic by the Soil Association since 1995.
